What Is the Rand Credit Line?

For Bitcoin and Ethereum holders, selling their assets is usually the last thing they want to do. It means giving up exposure to an asset you believe in and, in many cases, triggering a taxable event. Yet liquidity is still necessary to make new investments, cover expenses, or simply gain financial flexibility.

The Rand Credit Line offers a clear alternative: borrow against your assets without selling them.

Liquidity without giving up your assets

The Rand credit line is backed by crypto. Instead of assessing your credit history or income, Rand uses your BTC or ETH as collateral. This means you can access a loan of up to 50% of the value of your collateral: for example, if your Bitcoin is worth €100,000 at the time you request the credit, you could unlock a credit line of up to €50,000.

Once your assets are deposited, you can unlock the credit line and receive EURC directly in your Rand account, which you can then transfer to your traditional bank account instantly and with no off-ramp fees, giving you immediate liquidity in euros.

There are no credit checks, no paperwork, and no weeks of waiting.

Most loans are approved in under 25 business minutes, although in some cases approval may take up to 48 hours.

Why borrow instead of selling?

Selling your crypto means exiting the market and losing exposure to an asset you believe in for the long term. If the price rises afterward, you no longer participate in that upside. In many cases, selling also triggers an immediate taxable event. Borrowing against your crypto allows you to access liquidity today without giving up tomorrow’s potential growth — and without realizing gains prematurely.

Designed by and for Europeans

Most crypto-backed loans on the market are designed for U.S. users. This forces Europeans to borrow in USDC or USDT, taking on an additional risk that has nothing to do with Bitcoin or Ethereum: EUR–USD exchange rate risk.

The Rand Credit Line removes this problem at its core.

You borrow directly in EURC, a euro-denominated stablecoin, and receive euros in your bank account. No dollar exposure. No hidden FX risk. No unnecessary friction.

The lowest interest rate on the market

In addition to being built for Europeans, the Rand Credit Line offers one of the lowest interest rates available for Bitcoin- and Ethereum-backed loans.

The terms are simple and transparent:

  • 8% fixed annual interest rate
  • 1% origination fee when opening the credit line
  • Interest accrues daily and is charged quarterly
  • No mandatory repayment schedule

You can repay the loan whenever you want. As long as your collateral is sufficient, your credit line remains open.

How risk is managed

Your loan is governed by a Loan-to-Value (LTV) ratio, which compares the amount borrowed to the value of your collateral. If the price of your BTC or ETH falls, your LTV increases.

If the LTV approaches 85%, part of the collateral is automatically liquidated to prevent a default. At any time, you can reduce this risk by repaying part of the loan or adding more collateral.

Institutional-grade security

The collateral is held in cold wallets under BitGo custody, with insurance coverage of up to $250 million. Rand is registered with the Bank of Spain as a crypto-asset service provider and operates within a European regulatory framework.

A smarter way to use your crypto

The Rand Credit Line opens a new way for European investors to access liquidity:

maintain exposure to Bitcoin and Ethereum, avoid taxable events, and eliminate unnecessary risks such as currency exchange exposure.

Don’t sell your crypto. Borrow against it.
